Speech Therapy Atlanta, GA
About Us
Atlanta Autism Center is a family-centered practice built specifically around children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ages 1 through 8. Rather than treating diagnosis and therapy as separate stops, the center brings developmental pediatricians, psychometrists, behavior analysts, speech-language pathologists, and occupational therapists together under one plan, so a child's evaluation, communication goals, and daily-life skills all move in the same direction.
Families across
metro Atlanta — including Alpharetta, Peachtree Corners, Lawrenceville, Covington, Kennesaw, Loganville, and Flowery Branch — turn to the center for a guided path from first evaluation through ongoing ABA, speech, occupational, and feeding therapy. The approach is grounded in four commitments the team returns to often: advocate, educate, love, and accept, applied to every child and every caregiver who walks through the door.

Caregiver Resources & Support
An ASD diagnosis touches the whole household, so the center runs it as an ongoing part of care rather than a one-time handout. Monthly Caregiver Empowerment Workshops walk parents through topics like daily routines, managing transitions, IEPs, sibling support, and planning ahead, alongside a standing resource guide on screening, diagnosis, and treatment. The goal is to give
caregivers
practical tools and a community of other families, so they feel equipped rather than left to piece things together alone.
Autism Evaluation
For families who suspect ASD or want a formal diagnosis, the center's
evaluation is led by a multidisciplinary team — a developmental pediatrician, psychometrists, and advanced practice providers working from the same intake through the same recommendations. Because several specialists review a child together rather than in separate offices, families get one clear, individualized picture of a child's developmental profile and a concrete plan for next steps, whether that means ABA, speech, occupational, or feeding therapy.
Speech Therapy
Speech-language pathologists start with an individual evaluation, then build goals around how a child actually communicates day to day — spoken language, back-and-forth conversation, understanding what other people mean, and using gestures or other nonverbal tools when words are still developing. The aim of
speech therapy is functional communication a child can use at home, at school, and with the people around them, not therapy for its own sake. At Atlanta Autism Center, speech therapy is offered alongside ABA services, so language goals reinforce the behavioral and social skills a child is working on elsewhere in their program.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can my child get speech therapy without an autism diagnosis first?
Speech TherapyAt Atlanta Autism Center, speech and occupational therapy are offered to clients who are also receiving ABA services through the center. If your child hasn't been diagnosed yet, the team can start with an autism evaluation and use that assessment to build a coordinated plan, which may include speech-language therapy alongside ABA.
What ages does the center serve?
Contact UsThe center currently serves children ages 1 through 8 across all of its services, including diagnostic evaluation, ABA therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and feeding therapy.
What should we bring to a first appointment?
AppointmentBring copies of any recent evaluations or records you have — cognitive or psychological testing, prior speech, occupational, or physical therapy evaluations, early intervention records, an IEP or 504 plan, and any earlier medical or diagnostic assessments. These help the team build on what's already known about your child instead of starting from zero.
Providers
Every child's plan is shaped by a team rather than one clinician working alone. Developmental pediatricians and advanced practice providers lead diagnostic evaluations; board-certified behavior analysts (BCBAs) and registered behavior technicians (RBTs) run day-to-day ABA sessions; and speech-language pathologists and occupational therapists layer in communication and daily-living skills. Because these providers work from the same treatment plan and communicate as a team, therapy goals stay connected instead of competing for a child's attention, and caregivers get one consistent point of contact as care evolves.
